More than two decades ago, a young boy was on vacation with his parents Carolyn and Michael Ventola in San Diego, California.He sat at his uncle’s art table, captivated by lines, shadows, and the infinite power of creativity. That young boy was Austin Ventola—now a gifted Graphic Design Artist and proud graduate of the renowned Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.
This powerful portrait of Jesus Christ, rendered in pencil and charcoal, was Austin’s final exam drawing of importance—one that earned him high praise and recognition as a student of distinction. His professors noted both the technical precision and the emotional depth of his work. The raw humanity and sacred symbolism captured in Christ’s expression reflect not only artistic maturity but spiritual insight.
Austin’s early inspiration began at the GregoArt Studio with his Uncle, Artist Gregory Michael Maness. One of their first collaborations as a young boy and mentor was a piece called The Screaming Flower—a bold and imaginative choice from a selection of sketches Grego offered. “I never knew I would have such a profound effect on him with my artwork, I am so proud of him” Grego later reflected. And yet, that early spark of creativity has grown into a blazing light. .
