What if the world could be transformed by truth instead of terror? What if scripture, not shrapnel, rained from above?
Created in direct response to the artist’s personal reflections on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Drop Bibles Not Bombs is a large-format, emotionally charged mixed media masterpiece. Inspired by a sermon from Pastor J. Vernon McGee of Thru the Bible—the beloved “Bible Bus”—this work is both a spiritual protest and a visual prayer: a cry for peace, a plea for faith, and a call to trade war for the Word, destruction for discipleship, and death for divine light.
Real miniature Bibles—with God’s written words—stream down among spent bullet casings and golden bombs . Surrounding them: small-scale military hardware, drifting brass angels, scattered Crosses, bundles of $100 bills, cell phones, Rolodex watches, antique wooden clocks and utter chaos. At the very top, a metallic bronze lock and key boldly represents “The Keys to the Kingdom,” inviting viewers to reflect on the only true access to eternal life.
In the center, a commanding black cross illuminated by multicolor LED light rises in defiance of darkness. It is crowned by one of God’s warrior angels, a golden sword in hand—symbolizing righteousness and the supreme power of heaven. Below, a black and white bracelet with a visible Cross anchors the piece, reminding us to wear God’s Armor proudly and walk daily in His protection. Two metallic purple eternity rings hang from braided cords—symbols of eternal damnation or divine invitation.
Textured with authentic Pensacola Beach Sand and streaked with radiant hues of divine yellow, celestial blue, and burning orange, this piece bursts with spiritual symbolism and sacred urgency. Splattered Metallic Paints shine brightly across the work, creating the illusion of gravity and floating making this work informative, convincing and necessary. A powerful badge at the very bottom of the artwork clearly states for all of us to “Put on the full Armor of God” avoiding false idols and listen to the words spoken by Jesus Christ, Follow Me.
